CASTROL Spheerol BNS 2
Industrial Greases and Pastes
Spheerol BNS 2 is a non-melting grease for the lubrication of plain and roller bearings at high temperatures. It has no drop point. This grease is based on an oxidation resistant, thermally stable base oil and an inorganic thickener.
It is suitable for soot blower bearings, in carriages for hardening, drying in tunnel ovens, also in bearings of bitumen mixing plants, cranes in foundries, etc.
Spheerol BNS 2 can be used at a temperature range of -20°C to +150 °C, and for short periods at a temperature of up to +220 °C. Frequent re-greasing or grease change should be considered subject to application requirements.

Worked penetration at 25 °C, 60 strokes: 265 - 295 (0.1 mm)
Base oil viscosity at 40 °C: 180 - 220 mm2/sec
Dropping point: > 300 °C
Water resistance at 90 °C, after 3 hours: 1 - 90 (rating, ASTM D1264 / DIN 51 807/1)
Flow pressure at -20 °C: <1400 hPa
Oil separation at 40 °C, after 168 hours: max. 5 wt% (IP 121)
