CASTROL Spheerol AP 3
Industrial Greases and Pastes
Spheerol AP 3 is primarily intended for use in plain and anti-friction, ball and roller bearings besides other machinery applications. It is recommended for use under normal load conditions, within an operating temperature range of -20°C to +120°C.
Due to the low viscosity base oil used in these products, they are particularly suitable for high speed bearings, and Spheerol AP 3 is specially suitable for severe vibaration conditions.
Spheerol AP 3 is a lithium-based grease incorporating solvent-refined base oils. It contains oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, which help to ensure long service life and a high level of protection for metal surfaces.
Typical characteristics:
Consistency grade: NLGI 3
Base oil type: mineral oil
Base oil viscosity at 40 °C: 100-130 mm2/sec
Worked penetration, 60 strokes at 25 °C: 220-250 (0.1 mm)
Dropping point: min. 180 °C
Copper corrosion, 24 hours at 100 °C: 1b
Oil separation, 168 hours at 40 °C: max. 2 % wt
Water washout, 1 hour at 79 °C: max. 10 % wt loss
